As younger generations lose touch with their dialects, the cultural divide between them and their elders continues to grow. Hokkien is more than just a language—it carries stories, traditions, and identity. Yet, it is often perceived as outdated or irrelevant in contemporary society.
This project seeks to redefine Hokkien through bold and unconventional storytelling. By producing short films that explore taboo and overlooked narratives, it challenges traditional perspectives and sparks meaningful dialogue.
Beyond film, the project engages youths through Hokkien acting workshop enrolment packaging and an interactive card game, transforming language learning into an immersive and thought-provoking experience. By modernising Hokkien in a way that resonates with today's generation, this project aims to keep its cultural essence alive—one story at a time.
